  1. Effective posts on the early stirrings of your ideas. The concept board is useful though I think the representation of the female borders on a stereoptype in that she is objectified and passive.

If you want to be gripped for a couple of hours get hold of "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo" and consider the representation of a contemporary femme fatale, or woman with attitude who is equal to males in her determination to survive and defend herself.

The casting of characters and going against stereotypes will reap rewards if your film is convincing.Of course your male could be a rapist and the female could be seeking revenge...you may wish to think about this idea.

A promising blog thus far James.

  2. I'd suggest you weight up the strengths and weaknesses of your ideas. For example:
    1) Your first idea, I think there were problems with casting and that pensioners would be unlikely to bring down a tall and well built young man.

    2) Think about cliches...the brief case??? A worn out cliche used by too many students in their productions.

    3) Ideas may not reflect the concerns or interests of your target audience.

James could you evaluate your camera shots of locations, their generic significance in particular.

Final idea that has been agreed by others in the group, is possible to shoot and cast characters, reflects aspects of what it's like living in contemporary Britain, avoids gender stereotypes like diminishing images of objectified females.

Am interesting blog thus far reflecting intelligence, creativity and commitment.
